Michael and Helen MacGregor, of St. Simons Island, announce the engagement and forthcoming marriage of their daughter, Amanda Marie MacGregor, to Mark Harrington, son of Bill and Pat Harrington, of Roswell.

The bride-to-be is the granddaughter of Faye Sweat of Albany, and the late Maxwell Sweat, formerly of Albany, and Ruth MacGregor of Groton, Mass., and the late George MacGregor, formerly of Groton.

Dr. MacGregor is a 2006 graduate of Glynn Academy, and a 2010 graduate of the University of Georgia. In 2014, she graduated from the Medical College of Georgia, and in 2017, completed a pediatric residency at Tufts Medical Center in Boston. She is beginning a pediatric hematology/oncology fellowship at Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta.

The groom-to-be is the grandson of Jane Pugh of Buford, and the late Wendell Pugh, formerly of Buford, and the late William and Ila Harrington, both formerly of Milledgeville.

Mr. Harrington is a 2004 graduate of Centennial High School in Roswell, and a 2009 graduate of the University of Georgia. He is employed by as a commercial real estate appraiser by Valbridge Property Advisors.

A 5 p.m. wedding is planned for June 18 at the King and Prince Beach & Golf Resort on St. Simons Island.
