Liz Richardson, General Federation of Women’s Clubs (GFWC) Brunswick Woman’s Club Arts Committee Chair, invited Madison Ford, senior at Brunswick High School, to the club’s February luncheon meeting, to showcase her painting which will be entered in the upcoming Georgia Southeast District Student Art Competition. Madison spoke about the motivation behind her painting which was a self-reflection — with many personal unique life stories, along with a few lighthearted ones, including her many hairstyles and the flags of different countries. Madison was the child of a military family which constantly moved. The club is particularly proud in that last year’s nominee advanced to the state level and took the top prize of a $500 scholarship. Congratulations to Joni Nichols, art teacher at Brunswick High School, who accompanied Madison to the luncheon, and who was the art teacher for both of these students.
