Angelina DeAngelis-Ciuk, of Kingsland, made the Spring 2017 Dean’s List at Georgia Southwestern State University in Americus. To be eligible for the dean’s list, a student must earn a semester GPA of 3.5 or better and take a minimum of 12 credit hours.
Michael Lightfoot, of Brunswick, made the Spring Academic Achievement List at Georgia Southwestern State University. To be eligible for the academic achievement list, a student must previously earn at least 12 credit hours at GSW, be enrolled in 3 to 11 hours of courses, and earn a 3.5 or higher GPA.
Stephen West, of Brunswick, a graduate student at Youngstown State University, in Youngstown, Ohio, recently participated in the Dana School of Music opera production, “Mozart to Menotti.” West, graduate student choral conducting major, is a graduate of Glynn Academy High School.
The following local residents recently were initiated into The Honor Society of Phi Kappa Phi, the nation’s oldest and most selective all-discipline collegiate honor society.
• Taylor Aspinwall, of Brunswick, was initiated at Columbus State University.
• Michael Elmore, of Brunswick, was initiated at Georgia Southern University.
Suzel MacCallum, of Brunswick, was among the students recognized for outstanding achievements in academics, leadership and service during Troy University’s annual Honors Convocation held on its Dothan, Ala., campus in April. MacCallum received the Dean’s Award.

The following area students were named to the Spring 2017 Dean’s List at Berry College in Rome. The dean’s list honors students who posted an academic average of 3.5 or better on a 4.0 scale while carrying a class load of at least 12 hours during the semester.

Michelle Bentivegna of Kingsland, a student assistant in Valdosta State University’s Office of Student Life, was recognized during the 2016-2017 Student Employee of the Year Awards Ceremony.
Every year VSU faculty, staff, and administrators recognize their top student employees for the contributions they have made working on campus while attending college. The students are chosen based on their reliability, quality of work, initiative, professionalism and uniqueness of contribution. Nineteen student employees were honored this year.
Troy University recently announced the names of area students who were named to the provost’s list for the spring semester and Term 4 of the 2016-2017 academic year. Full-time undergraduate students who are registered for at least 12 semester hours and who have a grade point average of at least 3.65 qualify for the provost’s list.

Troy University recently announced the names of area students who were named to the chancellor’s list for the spring semester and Term 4 of the 2016-2017 academic year. Full-time undergraduate students who are registered for at least 12 semester hours and who earn a grade point average of 4.0 qualify for the chancellor’s list.

Preston Farley, of Brunswick, was named to the Champlain College Trustee’s List for the spring 2017 semester. Students on the Trustee’s List have achieved a 4.0 grade point average for two or more consecutive semesters. Champlain College is in Burlington, Vt.
