Thursday, Feb. 16

• Coastal Photographers Guild will meet at 7 p.m. at Glynn Visual Arts, 106 Island Drive, St. Simons Island. The topic will be “Groups and Candids,” presented by local photographer Mike Force. Guests welcome.

• The Founders of the Federal Reserve System,” will be presented at 6:30 p.m. in the Jekyll Island Museum Auditorium by the Friends of Historic Jekyll Island. The guest speaker will be Adam Jackson, a student in the American studies program at College of Coastal Georgia, who has done extensive research into the formation of the Federal Reserve System. Free. Refreshments will be served.

Sunday, Feb. 19

• “The Art of Food,” an art and culinary experience, will begin at 5 p.m. at Glynn Visual Arts, 106 Island Drive, St. Simons Island. Presented by Glynn Visual Arts and Georgia Sea Grill, the event will feature a cocktail reception at the arts center followed by a fine dining experience at Georgia Sea Grill. Monday, Feb. 20

• Bingo Benefit, to benefit Safe Harbor Children’s Center, will be from 7-9 p.m. at the Morgan Center on Jekyll Island. Hosted by the Jekyll Island Ladies League. Tickets are $10 each and may be purchased from JILL members or by calling 635-2709.

Tuesday, Feb. 21

• Dr. R. Kirby Godsey, former president of Mercer University, will speak at 10:30 a.m. in Room 108 of the St. Simons Island Casino, 530 Beachview Drive, St. Simons Island, as part of the “Coffee With the Author” series. His topic will be “The Thinking Believer.” Godsey, a theologian, is the author of four books including “Is God a Christian?” and “The God Particle: God-Talk in a Big Bang World.” Cost is $10 for nonmembers, free for members of the Literary Guild of St. Simons Island. “Birds of Jekyll Island,” an exhibit by the late Athos Menaboni, may be seen from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily through March 31 at Goodyear Cottage in the Jekyll Island Historic District.
