Epworth by the Sea, 100 Arthur J. Moore Drive, St. Simons Island, will host retired Methodist minister and Wesley Scholar, the Rev. Dave Hanson’s program, “Walk With Wesley” from 2 to 3 p.m. Thursdays in the Moore Methodist Museum. Hanson will take an in-depth look at the lives of John and Charles Wesley while they were on St. Simons Island in 1736. Free to the public.

First African Baptist Church, 1416 Amherst St., Brunswick, will celebrate its annual homecoming at 11 a.m. April 23. The guest speaker will be Pastor Tommy Benton of First United Christian Church of Brunswick. Refreshments will be served following the service.

First Friendship Baptist Church, 1010 Lee St., Brunswick, will celebrate its Deacons’ Fellowship service at 4 p.m. Sunday. The Rev. Quan Glover, pastor of Young Zion Baptist Church in St. Marys, will be the guest preacher. Special music will be provided by the Bright Star Singers.

Jerusalem Missionary Baptist Church, 916 Pennick Road, Brunswick, will celebrate Deacon and Deaconess Day at 3:30 p.m. April 23. The guests will be evangelist Pastor Michael Holmes and his church, Enterprise Baptist Church, of Woodbine. The church will also celebrate Usher Day at 3 p.m. April 30. The guest church will be Resurrection Christian Baptist Church of Jesup, and the guest speaker will be the Rev. Joyce Moore.

Lakeside United Methodist Church, 5572 New Jesup Highway, Brunswick, will host an Easter celebration following its Palm Sunday service at 11 a.m. Sunday that will include an Easter egg hunt, activities for all ages and refreshments. The church will hold a Good Friday tenebrae service at 6:30 p.m. Friday. At 6:45 a.m. April 16, the church will hold its Easter sunrise service, followed by a continental breakfast. At 11 a.m. April 16, the chancel choir will present the cantata “O What a Savior,” under the direction of Jeff Doke.

St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church, 1120 Newcastle St., Brunswick, hosts its nondenominational crafters guild from 6-9 p.m. Tuesdays in the St. Joseph Room in the church parish hall. No fees. Everyone is welcome. All types of crafts and ideas area shared. The guild provides hats for preemies and cancer patients, along with leg warmers and lap rugs for nursing homes. Details: 265-6816.

St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church, 1120 Newcastle St., Brunswick, will have a rummage sale from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. today sponsored the Council of Catholic Women. The sale will feature clothes, books, furniture and more. A $5 bag sale will be held from noon to 1 p.m. Proceeds will benefit the parish and local and international charities.

Sterling Church of God, 6670 New Jesup Highway, Brunswick, will host a free clothing giveaway sponsored by its Helping Hands Ministry, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Tuesdays.

Greater Hall Temple Church of God in Christ, 3226 Norwich St., Brunswick, will host a gospel sing featuring J’Mael and The Church Boyz at 7 p.m. Sunday.

Wesley United Methodist Church at Frederica, 6520 Frederica Road, St. Simons Island, will host the University of North Florida Chamber Singers, under the direction of Cara Tasher, at 5 p.m. April 30. The a cappella choir will present a variety of choral repertoire, including “The Requiem” by 20th century English composer Herbert Howells. Free.
