U. S. Air Force Tech. Sgt. Elliott D. Norris, a 2002 graduate of Brunswick High School, was recently promoted to master sergeant.

He is assigned to the 323rd Training Squadron, 737th Training Group, Lackland Air Force Base, Texas, as a military training instructor.

In addition to being a military training instructor, Norris is a career civil engineer who has served at leadership levels within the civil engineer functional community. As an non-commissioned officer, he has been a leader among his peers from the Air Combat Command and Pacific Air Forces. Additionally, as an abatement assistant non-commissioned officer-in-charge, he managed and performed inspections/air samplings working directly with the Environmental Protection Agency. Throughout his career, Elliott has deployed in support of operations Enduring Freedom and Iraqi. His domestic assignments have included bases in Texas and North Carolina, and his overseas assignments have included bases in the Korean Peninsula and Japan.

Norris’ major awards and decorations include Air Force Commendation Medal with second oak leaf cluster, Air Force Achievement Medal with one device, Air Force Outstanding Unit Award with silver oak leaf cluster and Army Achievement Medal with one device.
