Arrests

3300 block of U.S. 176: Two cashiers at the Winn Dixie were caught on the store’s surveillance video giving away groceries. The two women were seen “sliding items” through the checkout line without running them over the price scanner. Police arrested them and took them to jail on charges of theft by taking, a misdemeanor.

200 block of Mall Boulevard: A security guard at Belk caught a teenage boy stealing jewelry. Police arrived, arrested him and took him to the county jail on a misdemeanor charge of shoplifting.

L Street and Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard: Police stopped a driver for a traffic violation, then discovered the person was wanted for probation violation by another law enforcement agency.

Old Jesup Road and Hautala Drive: Police were checking out a suspicious person and ended up arresting that person for loitering and prowling.

Goodyear and Atlantic Avenue: Police stopped a vehicle for a traffic violation. The driver had a suspended license and the vehicle was neither registered nor insured. Police arrested the driver.
