Two arrested on child porn charges

A search warrant executed in Glynn County Wednesday evening resulted in the arrest of two men on child pornography charges, according to a release from the Glynn County Police Department.

Glynn County Police investigators performed the search at a house in the 100 block of Tupelo Circle.

Jonathan Steven Lesley, 35, was charged with one count of sexual exploitation of children for distributing child pornography.

Joshua Jordan Russell, 32, was charged with one count of the same and an additional count of possessing child pornography.

Both remained in Glynn County Detention Center Thursday.

The investigation is still ongoing and police anyone with information about it to contact investigator Stephanie Oliver as part of the Georgia Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force at 554-7825.

Event to tackle gangs, bullying and more

The Delta Sigma Theta Sorority’s Brunswick Alumnae Chapter will present a Grits and Issues community conversation breakfast at 8 a.m. Saturday at Coastal Georgia Area Community Action Authority, 1 Community Action Dr., in Brunswick.

Guest panelists at the event will be Det. Kizzler Knight of the Camden County Sheriff’s Office, who will discuss human trafficking; Officer Ashley Williams of the Brunswick Police Department, who will discuss gangs; Officer Marsha Myers-Bue, who will discuss bullying; and Dr. Charmaine Ramsay, who will discuss mental health issues.

The event is free to all.
