Beth Johnson Wootton, 92, of Brunswick, and formerly of Suches, Ga., died Sunday, March 12, 2017, at Hospice of the Golden Isles.
The graveside service will be held 2 p.m., Tuesday, March 14, 2017, at Palmetto Cemetery, with the Rev. Jim Crandall officiating. Burial will follow the service.
Mrs. Wootton was born Sept. 15, 1924, in Brunswick, Ga., to the late Elisha Johnson and the late Ellen Sellers Johnson. She was a graduate of the University of Georgia, receiving her bachelor’s degree in education. Mrs. Wootton retired from the Glynn County Board of Education, and was a member of First Baptist Church.
Mrs. Wootton enjoyed traveling, living by the water and had a great love for her animals. She was a great wife, mother, grandmother, teacher, artist and friend who will be missed and cherished by all.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her sister-in-law, Irene Wootton.
She is survived by her husband of 70 years, Richard G. Wootton; her daughter, Debbie Kennedy and husband Mike; son, Dave Wootton and wife Pam; four grandchildren, Patrick Wootton and wife Allison, Kimberly Harn and husband Marty, Mitzi Kennedy and Mitch Kennedy; five great-grandchildren; and a brother in law, David Wootton.
