The Glynn Academy boys and girls tennis teams each wrapped up home wins Tuesday, defeating Brantley County.
The boys picked up a 4-1 win, getting singles victories from No. 1 Cole Paschal, No. 2 Matt Hartnett and No. 3 Stephen Thompson. The Terrors lost the No. 2 doubles match, but got a win in the No. 1 doubles from Ben McKenzie and Danny Moore.
The Lady Terrors also earned a 4-1 victory. Like the boys team, the Glynn girls swept the singles with No. 1 Sarah Murray, No. 2 Emma Hidalgo and No. 3 Yanin Reinholz picking up straight-set wins.
The No. 2 doubles team faltered for the Lady Terrors, but the No. 1 team of Eliana Paga and Ansley Moody won in straight sets.
The Knight’s offense peppered Robert Toombs Christian Academy for three runs in the first and second innings and two runs in the fourth and fifth inning to complete a mercy rule win, 10-0, Tuesday night.
Starting pitcher Trey Thompson allowed two hits and struck out 12 through 4.2 innings.
Harry Veal racked up three RBI on a two-hit night. Veal homered and singled to go 2-for-4, and Eric McCall also homered and drove in three runs on a 1-for-2 night at the plate.
The Knights (4-1) are slated to play at Edmund Burke Thursday.
The Pirates run-ruled Long County 11-0 in Tuesday’s make up game for a March 9 cancellation.
The Pirates racked up 12 hits in the game. Jacob Benton, Michael Waters and Joe Smith recorded doubles from Brunswick. Benton was a perfect 3-for-3 on the day with two RBI. Hunter Goff was 2-for-2 with a walk and two runs scored.
Bryson Wilson got the start and tossed a 5.0-inning shutout. He struck out seven batters and walked one on two hits.
Brunswick’s (7-5) next scheduled game is Thursday against Wayne County.
