Brunswick High School’s girls basketball team won its second consecutive region game Tuesday night, a 48-33 home win over Richmond Hill.
The Lady Pirates (9-9) are a perfect 3-0 in Region 2-6A.
After outscoring Richmond Hill 18-5 in the first quarter, the Lady Pirates held a 22-18 lead at halftime. With a 33-29 lead heading into the fourth, Brunswick outscored Richmond Hill 15-4 in the final eight minutes to pull out the win.
Kyamiya Blackshear totaled a team-high 11 points. Antonisha Davis scored nine points and had six assists. Dekayla Spaulding had eight points.
RICHMOND HILL 61,
On the flip side, the Brunswick boys suffered their second consecutive loss with a narrow defeat at the hands of Richmond Hill.
This loss drops Brunswick (13-4) to 2-1 in the region and gives Richmond Hill sole possession of first place.
The two teams were locked at 40-40 at the start of the fourth quarter.
Marcus Scott led the Pirates with 20 points and six assists. Kymani Dunham had 13 points and six rebounds, and DaQuan Humphreys added 11 points.
Both Brunswick squads head to Effingham on Friday for another region contest.

BRADWELL INSTIUTE 57
The Red Terrors are back to .500 in the region after topping Bradwell Institute on the road.
The Terrors (9-8) were led in scoring by Syron Noyes’ 18 points and six rebounds. Durand Green added 15 points and Dominique Walker scored 11 points and pulled down 11 rebounds.

Glynn Academy girls basketball dropped its second region game to Bradwell.
The Lady Terrors (9-7) are 2-2 in the region, and have lost two straight games since beating Richmond Hill Jan. 3.
Glynn Academy is slated to host Beach High School on Saturday.
